Mobicom is a family of secure Web-based vehicle fleet management solutions that collect information from a telematics device and sensors placed inside vehicles and other moving assets. It assists small and large fleet operators in maximizing the efficiency of their fleets and drivers.
Mobicom consists of an embedded telematics device combining the data transmission capabilities of the digital cellular network with the positioning capabilities of GPS technology and a family of Web-based software applications enabling customers to access management information. These applications include modules necessary in order to manage connectivity to vehicles and to interpret the associated telematics messaging.
Mobicom is designed to be easy to use. Once installed, the system is designed so that users can take advantage of its many features without any technical support. For example, Mobicom real-time notification rules can easily be changed to report specific triggers, events, measures or violations.
Mobicom enables the fleet operator to visualize and track vehicles on a map 24 hours a day, seven days a week through an advanced mapping tool. In the event that the vehicle is out of cellular coverage, our device has the ability to store several weeks’ worth of data and will automatically send the data upon return into coverage.
Our Mobicom product includes both tabular reporting and mapping tools. Dataview is our tabular reporting tool and Mapview is our graphical mapping tool. We provide the Web-based data management and mapping system as a hosted service, thereby saving the customer from having to purchase or maintain additional, third party software applications. Customers are granted access to these services via secure access on our portal (www.datacom.com). Both historical and real-time information can be obtained from our portal, which can be accessed from any computer connected to the Web.
